4/26/2024 - UPDATE - The well pump needs to be replaced and a new pump has been ordered. The delivery has been expedited and it is scheduled to arrive on Tuesday. Residents will continue to experience lower than normal pressure until the new pump is installed, fully restored and back in service. This continues as an informational message only, and no boil order has been issued.

4/26/2024 - FAREWAY FINALIZING PLANS FOR A NEW STORE IN COAL VALLEY
Fareway Stores, Inc. announced plans to construct an approximately 17,000 square foot store at the southeast corner of 1st Street and Route 6 in Coal Valley, IL. This project is tentatively planned for 2026.
"Communities depend on a local grocer to offer high quality products and unmatched service. We look forward to offering these qualities to Coal Valley and area residents with a new Fareway store," said Fareway CEO Reynolds W. Cramer. "We want to thank city officials and economic development for helping make this project possible."

The new store will provide for only the best in fresh, highest quality meat; a full-service butcher counter; farm-fresh produce; low, competitive prices; and the highest level of customer service, including to-your-car carryout. The new store will offer FastLanes, a self-service checkout option, and online shopping and curbside pick-up, available at Shop.Fareway.com.

4/25/2024 - The Village has had a pump failure at one of our wells, so we are transferring those residents over to another well. The pump is scheduled for repair tomorrow morning, but in the meantime, you may experience lower than normal water pressure. It will take a minimum of 24 hours before the pump is fully restored and back in service. This is an informational message only, and no boil order has been issued.

03/13/2024 - The first day for yard waste collection begins on Wednesday April 3rd, 2024. Stickers may be purchased at the Village Hall & at Blackhawk Bank for $2.25 each. As a reminder, please call the Village Hall to be put on the yard waste list by no later than noon on Tuesday & have your yard waste bags stickered & out for pickup no later than 6am on Wednesday mornings. DO NOT place yard waste in your garbage or recycle totes. By doing this, your garbage or recycle may not get picked up. If you have any questions regarding yard waste or to schedule a pickup, you may contact the Village Hall @ 309-799-3604 during regular business hours.

Yard waste carts are also available for an annual fee of $114.00. A charge of $9.50 per month will be added to your utility bill. Please call the Village Hall for more information.

03/13/2024 - The Annual Coal Valley Community Garage and Yard Sales will be held on Saturday, June 15th, 2024 between 8:00 am and 1:00 pm. Individuals may choose to keep their sale open longer or even start earlier in the week if they wish. Be aware of the NO PARKING signs posted for Friday June 14th & Saturday June 15th, 2024. Get all of your treasures ready to go, and we’ll hope for good weather, big crowds, AND LOTS OF FUN! For further information please contact Pat Anderson, Coordinator  (309) 738-7779.

01/02/2024 – The Village of Coal Valley is currently taking reservations for the Municipal Park located at 1000 1st Street. Reservations required for shelter and pavilion rental. There is also a $50 refundable deposit. To make reservations please call 799-3604. Park amenities: Enclosed shelter, picnic tables, bathrooms, tennis courts, horseshoe pit, ball diamond and playground equipment.

07/24/2023 - Immediate opening for Police Officer. Applications will be on going until position is filled. Please apply on the attached application. You can email or turn-in, in person at the Village Hall (900 1st Street) between the hours of 8:00 am and 4:00 pm Monday through Friday.

01/17/2023 – This is a reminder to our Village of Coal Valley residents to have your garbage and/or recycling out by 6am on Tuesdays & bulk items out by 6am on Wednesdays. If you do not have them out before 6am you may get missed. ***Remember to call the Village Hall to schedule your free one single bulk item a month no later than noon on Tuesdays to be placed on the list for pick up on Wednesday***
